Day by day

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome Dinner โ–ผ

Arrive in Kyoto and settle into your accommodation. Evening welcome dinner at a traditional kaiseki restaurant where you'll meet your fellow travelers and guide. Introduction to Japanese dining etiquette and local customs.

Day 2: Temples of Eastern Kyoto โ–ผ

Explore the iconic temples of Higashiyama district. Visit the golden Kinkaku-ji Temple, walk through thousands of vermillion torii gates at Fushimi Inari, and experience the wooden terrace of Kiyomizu-dera with stunning city views. Traditional tea ceremony in the afternoon.

Day 3: Arashiyama & Bamboo Forest โ–ผ

Journey to Arashiyama's enchanting bamboo groves. Visit Tenryu-ji Temple and its magnificent gardens, cross the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, and explore the peaceful moss-covered paths. Afternoon ramen-making workshop where you'll craft your own perfect bowl.

Day 4: Nara Day Trip โ–ผ

Day excursion to nearby Nara. Meet the famous bowing deer of Nara Park, visit the massive Todai-ji Temple housing a giant Buddha statue, and explore the serene Kasuga-taisha Shrine with its thousands of lanterns. Return to Kyoto for dinner at a local izakaya.

Day 5-7: Free Exploration & Farewell โ–ผ

Free days to explore at your own pace. Optional activities include: Japanese calligraphy class, sake brewery tour and tasting, Gion geisha district evening walk, Nishiki Market food tour, or zen meditation at a local temple. Farewell dinner on Day 7 celebrating your journey together.

What's the group size? โ–ผ

We keep our groups intimate with a maximum of 12 travelers. This ensures personalized attention from your guide and allows for authentic interactions with local culture. Most of our tours run with 8-10 people, creating a perfect balance between group energy and individual experience.

What fitness level is required? โ–ผ

This trip is designed for moderate fitness levels. You should be comfortable walking 3-5 miles per day on varied terrain, including some hills and stairs at temple sites. We take frequent breaks, and the pace is leisurely. If you have specific mobility concerns, please contact us to discuss accommodations.

What's the cancellation policy? โ–ผ

Full refund if cancelled 90+ days before departure. 50% refund if cancelled 60-89 days before. 25% refund if cancelled 30-59 days before. No refund for cancellations less than 30 days before departure. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment.

Do I need a visa? โ–ผ

Most travelers from the US, Canada, EU, UK, and Australia can visit Japan visa-free for up to 90 days. You'll need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Please check with your country's Japanese embassy for specific requirements based on your nationality.
